Biography:

Mardi has been active in viticultural pursuits since 1992 when she was involved in the establishment of her family’s vineyards at Padthaway in the Limestone Coast. Mardi’s viticultural experience includes industry positions with Wingara Wine Group and Nepenthe Viticulture and most recently has worked independently on viticultural projects with Treasury Wine Estates, the Limestone Grape & Wine Council and independent grapegrowers. Mardi also worked as a lecturer in Viticulture at the University of Adelaide from 2002-2007 after which she spent six months in the USA as Viticulture Research and Extension Associate with Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Mardi currently manages the Australian wine industry\\\'s sustainability program, Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.

Research:

Mardi’s PhD research was in the area of grapevine reproductive biology. She is currently investigating vineyard floor management techniques to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.
