The analysis of wine, juice and grapes by GCMS and LC/MS/MS is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) and is regularly exposed to international proficiency testing via the FAPAS program.
Multi-residue analysis – LC/MS/MS
This multi-residue assay covers a broad range of fungicides and insecticides, targeting those agrochemicals which are currently registered, or recently deregistered, for viticultural use in the Australian wine industry. The analysis is available for grapes, juice and wine and utilises the well-published QuEChERS extraction technique combined with the greater specificity of liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS). The list of compounds determined in this assay is outlined below.

All compounds are analysed to a limit of quantitation (LoQ) of 0.01 mg/kg(L) (except captan and fludioxonil which are 0.02 mg/kg(L)).
Multi residue assay (GCMS)
AWRI Commercial Services provides a fast and reliable agrochemical residue analysis service to the Australian wine industry. The routine scan includes 33 residues, which include over 50 brand name agrochemicals. Wherever possible, residues are analysed as per their maximum residue limit (MRL) definition.
The analytical method employs extraction, cleanup and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS) operating in selected ion monitoring mode.
