Previous: Prior to joining the AWRI, Dan held the position of Business Development Manager at Bio Innovation SA for two years. During this time, he was part of a team which formed nine new South Australian bioscience companies, established a $35 million venture capital fund for the South Australian bioscience industry and annually administrated more than $1.5 million in grant monies for commercialisation of life sciences research. Dan also has direct experience in the commercialisation of scientific technologies, having invented and patented a product for the life science sector and formed a company to manage its commercialisation; the company, Tacnia Pty Ltd, has been operating since 2005.

Dan is a Director and the Treasurer of the Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference and a Director and Public Officer of Tacnia Pty Ltd. In 2009, Dan was a participant in the Australian wine industry Future Leader’s program and was the recipient of the Bio Innovation SA Young Achiever Award. In 2008, Dan was a included in the Dean’s list of Outstanding graduates in the University of Adelaide’s MBA program.
