The Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI) is the Australian grape and wine industry’s own research organisation. It supports a sustainable and successful grape and wine industry through world-class research, practical solutions and knowledge transfer. The AWRI manages Sustainable Winegrowing Australia – the national sustainability program for Australia’s grapegrowers and winemakers.
Applications are invited for the position of Sustainability Specialist. The successful applicant will play a key role in the delivery of the AWRI’s sustainability activities, including the provision of technical support, member engagement, education and adoption to support the Australian wine industry’s sustainability program, Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Viticulture, Agriculture, Environmental Science or a related discipline, with a postgraduate qualification preferred. They will have at least five years’ practical industry experience, preferably with a focus on sustainability, and the ability to design, manage and implement projects. Superior communication skills and motivation to advance the sustainability and success of the Australian grape and wine industry are also prerequisites.
The position will be based at the Waite Research Precinct, Urrbrae, SA.
