2026/27 Dog book version changes

The Dog Book has been updated for the 2026/27 growing season. Version 1 is dated 1 June 2026 and includes new registrations, revised export harvest intervals, and improved navigation. This edition introduces QR codes in the printed booklet and hyperlinks throughout the online PDF for faster access to linked resources. Navigation within the PDF has also been improved with a fully linked contents page.

What’s changed

Key changes — Version 1, June 2026

Changes to the 2026/27 edition are summarised below across new registrations, export harvest interval updates, regulatory actions, and guidance and formatting improvements.

New active constituent

folpet (Folpan) NEW — fungicide registered for powdery mildew, downy mildew, botrytis, phomopsis and black rot

APVMA active constituent review

fenitrothion CANCELLED — last possible use date 14 August 2026

Export harvest interval changes

mefentrifluconazole (Belanty) Changed from 35 days before harvest back to E-L 25
fenpropidin + difenoconazole (Seeker Duo) Changed from E-L 18 out to E-L 25
pydiflumetofen (Miravis) Changed from E-L 25 out to E-L 27
orange oil (Prev-Am) Changed from 30 days before harvest out to 14 days before harvest
eugenol, geraniol, thymol (Novellus) Changed from 14 days before harvest out to 7 days before harvest

New guidance

Products sharing an active ingredient but with a different re-entry period are now listed in separate rows in Table 2:

Fungicides:

  • azoxystrobin
  • dimethomorph
  • fluazinam
  • spiroxamine
  • tebuconazole

Herbicides:

  • pendimethalin
  • quizalofop-P-ethyl
  • glufosinate-ammonium
  • glufosinate-P-ammonium

Insecticides:

  • alpha-cypermethrin
  • bifenthrin

Herbicides registered for desuckering are now indicated on pages 23–24.

New ‘Spray application in vineyards: achieving correct dose and canopy coverage’ page (p. 30) replaces the biosecurity tips, which are now available on the AWRI website.

Updated guidance & formatting

Agrochemicals prohibited by most wineries are now shaded in Table 2 (wording of footnote updated).

Re-entry period table updated to include 21 days for glufosinate-P-ammonium (Basta Ultra).

Herbicide type (pre-emergent vs post-emergent) now indicated by new reference abbreviation in Table 2.

‘Important points’ replaced with ‘Important spray tips’, split into three topic areas — duplicated content largely removed.

Colour used to highlight fungicide resistance (page 18) updated to meet colour-blindness guidelines.
