Position vacant: Postdoctoral Research Scientist – Metabolomics and ‘Omics Outreach

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the Metabolomics Australia Node and ‘Omics Accelerator at the Australian Wine Research Institute, located at the Waite Precinct in Adelaide, South Australia.

As part of Australia’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS), this position focuses on delivering high-quality analytical services, supporting applied research, and translating ‘omics technologies into practical outcomes for industry, SMEs, and the broader research community.

The successful candidate will work within a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, contributing to bespoke metabolomics and multi-omics projects that span agriculture, food and environmental sectors. This position also plays a key role in strategic outreach and capability building, supporting the growth of South Australia’s omics ecosystem.

This role is supported through NCRIS, Bioplatforms Australia (BPA), and the South Australian Government. It offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and impactful national research network with strong links to industry, academia, and government.

Key Requirements:
Applicants must hold a PhD in chemistry, biology, or a related field, and have experience with mass spectrometry platforms and analytical method development.

Strong communication skills and an interest in scientific outreach and multi-omics translation are highly desirable.
