The AWRI will present a Sparkling Wine Symposium at the William Angliss Institute, Melbourne on 26 June 2018. The full day symposium will cover the latest research and technology relevant to sparkling wine growers and producers as well as marketing information. Wine Australia will provide updates on the Australian sparkling wine market and consumer sensory preferences. Viticulture topics will include managing vines for sparkling production and vineyard site selection. Winemaking topics include novel technologies, foaming and bubble parameters and factors that affect them, troubleshooting riddling and MLF choices. The day will conclude with a masterclass tasting of Australian and French wines and an industry panel discussing ‘Making sparkling wine to age’.
